No, it is not pay to win. It is a free game made by the company Digital Extremes. In this game, you have the option to pay for items, such as the following: Rush build times, Cosmetics (Warframe add-ons, skins, color palettes and other accessories), weapons, Warframes and Equipments. Even though this exists, there is something that does not make it pay-to-play, you can literally make everything in your foundry, except for "Cosmetics." You can play the game forever without having to pay for a single item. The currency used to "Pay" is called Platinum, this is where it gets good. You don't even have to buy the Platinum at all! If you sell certain items. like Prime Items or certain decent- amazing "Mods," you can get Platinum from other players- who use their own money- instead of buying Platinum for yourself. In short, this is a true Free-To-Play game.

The game is not pay to win but it can be if you prefer it. The game consist of heavy grinding and farming to get the items you want. If you don't like waiting or just hate hours and hours of game play just to get what you want then paying is easier.

Nope. You can pay to get a boost, but you can get all of the items through hard word as well.

It kinda is to be real! I've played it for 200 hours and I have become really strong but the real deal is the Platinum that you need for slots/faster proggres/looking fabilous/etc. Yeah you can be really strong without paying a 0.01$ like I did myself but If you don't pay It's the Gathering game.. and thats boring this is why I stopped playing the game! I would not say its PAY TO WIN but I would say It's PAY FOR FASTER PROGRESSION and thats what i dont like ... but You know the DEVS have to make some money so yeah.. !

Everything in the game other than some Accessories are obtainable without paying money, it's more of a question of how patient you are. Even if you do need the premium currency (platinum) you can trade from it on the market tab.

It's definitely not. Everything (except cosmetics) u can farm yourself, If get lazy u can buy the thing u want\need from market or other players, OR u can sell smth to get some platinum without paying real money. Paying will only make u look fancy and save time, but that's it, it won't provide any advantage against f2p players.
PS and no idgaf that it's posted in 2014

this game has no such thing as pay to win...it has "pay to advance significantly faster". but you can obtain EVERYTHING that you can pay for with irl, simply by doing in game farming.

It's not pay to win, you can get everything you can with the platinum (irl monies) later on in the game, you can also get platinum by trading prime parts with players, it isn't pay to win, it's pay to win quicker.

no it isn't, you just get a bit better gear if you pay but you can be as good without paying. You will just be grinding a bit harder than others and longer

It's not technically pay-to-win as it is, for the most part, a Co-op game.

The only thing in the game that you can't get without paying are cosmetics such as capes and skins, as well as slots for new weapons and warframes. The game utilizes an in-game currency called "platinum," but it is, in fact, possible to get a great deal of platinum simply by collecting valuable items and selling them to other players. Otherwise, everything else is obtainable without paying a thing. It is even possible to get alternate heads simply by playing the daily alert missions! Imagine that! Cosmetics without paying! And one more thing-- You actually start out with 50 Platinum! WHAT! Getting free currency that must be bought! DE must be out of their minds! (lol I spent it on a ship cosmetic and regretted it the instant I wanted extra warframes, but I was able to easily obtain the slots by selling prime parts)

I've played for about 400 hours, but if I had payed than I would probably only have maybe 2-300 hours in the game. It's a great game, but very grindy. I find myself playing in phases where I will log maybe 20-30 hours then get bored and not play for months until the next update.

Not pay to win, but pay to not waste your entire life.

The game is not pay to win. It's pay for comfort. You can pay for different skins and warframes(most of which you can grind for). So really it's up to you how you play the game; Me personally I grind, since I'm a poor bum, but I guess that's why I'm here huh?

It's a pay to go faster. You can get anything in the game by farming it, but a little bit of in-game currency (whether bought or traded for with other in-game items) goes a very long way.

No it's not a pay to win, but it's a pay to win faster. So what I mean is that you can earn platinum, fro exeple, by opening relics than trade the prime parts to other players, for platinum of course. But if you don't have patience ,than the easy way is to buy some platinum, but is not necessarily. So my advice is to have patience and farm, yeah it's gonna take u a while but it's worth it.

No, you can enjoy anything in the game without paying money, I've gotten all the Warframes and a nice collection of cosmetic without giving any money, and if you do buy prime access, it's extremely expensive and more worth buying with platinum that you can trade for.

It's only p2w if you don't have patience, it's a really fun game to play i'd say and the only time you have to go against other players in the game is conclave, otherwise it's campaign missions

No and yes, the game is made so anyone can play and get progress in the game but unless you have skill and are willing to grind a bit, it's pay to win in the sense that it helps to pay to win but even if you don't it's still a good game. Myself personally found it to get hard if you don't pay at all.
