Steam wallet code doesn't work when put into digital wallet

title says it all, when I put in the code game kit gave me Digital Wallet says:
"Oops, there was a problem.
This token can't be used at this time. Please try again later or Contact Us."
its been around 12 hours and now I'm afraid I was scammed out of points.
